Older Ion Parameter Counts

I'm running an older ION in 2.2. Online literature states that ION will run 6144 parameters. I had understood that ION was limited to 3072 Par. What are the parameter counts for an XP based ION?

Ion with the newer motherboard (which features dual DVI connections, a Display Port connection, dual NICs, and Windows 7 Embedded) can run up to 6144 parameters when fully upgraded. 
 Ion with either of the two older motherboards and Windows XP Embedded (dual DVI and a single NIC or a DVI splitter and a single NIC) have a maximum of 3072 outputs when fully upgraded.
