ETC Ion Nomad Dongle

Hello Community,

So my friend and I have a Nomad USB Dongle for the ETC ION board at our school. We have run into some problems being able to connect our laptop and the light board to be able to operate them together. So far we have connected a router to the light board that is outputting a signal that we can connect our computer to. The light board's wifi access has been enabled. In our computer, the IP address is the next sequential number. We have the dongle connected and have opened the ETC Ion Nomad client and selected the client mode. All this gives us is just a continued looking for master console. We have tried three different routers to keep obtaining the same result.

Does anybody know how to fix this issue?

Thank you,

Matt

  • If you are trying to connect the laptop wireless stop.

First get the laptop connected with wires and get it working that way.

The console software is not meant for a wireless connection.  It is unlikely that you will every get a stable reliable connection.

You are indicating that you are using a router.  There are many settings that can cause a router to work or not work wired between the console and laptop.

A network switch is the best item to place between the two.

Make sure the Ion is booted after the network switch because it needs to see a signal on the network port or it may not even turn the port on.

    hope this helps
