the best would be to record a beam palette with the gobo and then in the magic sheet select the gobo and as target assign the beam palette. be careful to only selectively record the gobo into the palette and not all other beam parameters as well.

it wont let me add a gobo to a beam pallete...

how are you trying? it works, that's what beam palettes are for...

think i have it now, so i select the fixture set all other items to home then select the gobo i want then recod beam pallet number and enter? correct? then when i slect the fixutre and add the beam ballet it says BP 1? this all right? im on nomad so cant test it works?

like this you record all beam parameters into the palette. i guess you don't want that... you can check the contents of the palette: Blind, BeamPalette 1 Enter. select the channel, you will probably have lots of white parameters. select all the parameters except GoboSelect which you want to keep, and type At Enter to remove them.

to do it right from the start: in Live, Chan 1, select the gobo. then Chan 1 GoboSelect Record Beam Palette 1 Enter. it's called selective record. alternatively, if only the gobo parameter is red, you can use Record Only.

i strongly suggest reading up on selective recording, Record and Record Only. without that basic knowledge you will not have much fun with Eos Family...
