Lost Show Arcive

my fault for not doing a recent save on a usb.. lesson learned.

mroe curious of how it may have happened.  My ion is a 2 year house board recenty updated.

everything has been working perfect for me but maybe desk was reset with out knowing it?

I didn't notice anothing different because the current show and all my desk settings loaded just fine..

first I realized that my router setting no longer would connect to the RFU app no matter how many times I reset it.

then I noticed all of my files in the show Arcive were gone and replaced with other folder names but empty.

strange to see this list of names in the show file Arcive in this order.

>Documation

>DoInstall

>FixtureLibiary

>Gobos

>Help

and about 6 more down to >Symbols

all empty folders but the current show was saved but there is no show folder for it.

curious if anyone can explain what I did or what happen.

Thank You

  • to me it seems that the show archive patch is off. i can't tell you what the reason for this is though...
  • I would say it probably didn't become corrupted but changed when someone possibly installed the Nomad version off the ETC flash drive instead of the desk version doing an update. I did the exact thing but opposite; I updated Nomad on my PC and had problems then someone pointed out to me I installed the console version instead of Nomad.

I do want to reemphasize what ueliriegg stated: before changing the path: save all the shows you saved to the hard drive after the path changed to a usb drive. after you change the path they will still be on the hard drive, but you won't have access to them anymore (just like now you can't access the previous ones).

I also want to ask ueliriegg if what Jimmy needs to do is reinstall the correct version instead of just changing the path. If in fact Nomad was installed wouldn't that cause other issues as well?

  • Did as you suggested and restored defaults and my show file archive is now back.. Than You
