Automark bug?

I am automarking some scrollers. The cue they mark in has multiple parts and I'd like to put the mark in a specific part. In blind, the mark shows as purple (tracking), so I can't tell them which part. Bug?

  • This is working as intended.  If you need to mark in a specific part, you must use reference marking.  There has been discussion in the past about adding some more options to automark, but as currently implemented, you can only automark in P1.

As a workaround, you can set discrete timing and delay for the mark by applying the discrete timing to the color parameter in the reference cue (not the mark cue).  That's a little counterintuitive, but it works great.

Or, you can always set up Mark Timing in Setup, which will always use that time for marking regardless of the cue timing.  If you do this, the only way to override the default mark timing is to use discrete timing in the reference cue.
