Intensity and cue parts

I had a show where I needed to use some movers in two consecutive cues with different focus positions.  I thought that I could use parts in the second cue with delay to initially set intensity to zero in the first part and start the focus position to change and then in the second part bring up the intensity again.  No matter what I tried the intensity was always the same in both parts.

Is this normal behavior for part cues?  Because I had a very short time to figure it out, I set an inhibitive submaster for the intensity and manually controlled the intensity while the second cue ran.  Thinking about it later I probably could have created 2 cues using HANG/FOLLOW to do what I needed - I just hoped the PART function would do what I needed.

  • Dale, a parameter can only be given an instruction once in a cue... even if that cue is a multi-part cue.   To do what you are looking for, you are correct - build a second cue with the fade up and tie to the first cue with a follow or a hang time.  You'll get a similar result.

     Sorry about the confusion.

    Hope this helps.
