Windows 7 and SSD upgrade for Ion

Will there be or is there a "DIY" upgrade to Windows 7 and SSDs for older Ions?

I noticed that the previous thread hadn't been posted to recently.

there is an upgrade but it's not DIY. the Ion will need to go back to the factory for that. it includes the SSD, new CPU, 2 NICs, win7, and other stuff. not all Ions are eligible though. check the s/n here: http://www.etcconnect.com/Support/Articles/Windows-7-Upgrade-Eligibility.aspx

Hi Derek,

its currently not planned. Due to hardware installation, configuration, licensing and testing, its simply too complicated to be done outside of the factory.
