ION with Nomad

Gearing up for cues and rehearsals for OZ next week and would like to know if someone can give a quick rundown on how to set up my Nomad (Dell laptop) as a backup console to my ION during the performances. It's already set up and has been used for stand-alone.

I've not done this before so I am on a big learning curve. Can't be too complicated.

  • I agree that for the most part you want to go ahead and just launch ETCnomad as {backup} but you will need to have the network set up properly.

Ideally, you will need a network switch between the console and the PC.  For ease I often allow the console to be the address server and just set up my laptop to accept a DHCP address from the console, which gets my network in line quickly and easily.

Dont forget to disable Wifi so the ETCnomad only speaks via the LAN port.

The first time you may need to press {Troubleshoot} and select your console as the Master to get things lined up.

    Thank you,

  • shut off laptop virus protection and firewall. shut off laptop blue tooth and wireless. set laptop LAN to acquire add automatically. connected with cat cable with Linksys switch between laptop and ION. Nomad launched as Backup. Just spins searching for master console but never connects.
