MIDI/MSC sudden change

Hi all,

I'm running an Ion, version 2.2.0.9.0.96, using MIDI from our sound console to trigger some (not all) lighting cues during a show.

We've been running for 4 weeks without any problems, or any changes to our setup (physical or software).  Today during our standard preshow check of the MIDI control (which honestly, we were only doing at the start of each week since we had never experienced any problems before) the Ion decided that it wanted both MSC Receive and MSC Transmit enabled in order to take Go commands from the MIDI connection.  Prior to today, it worked fine with MSC Transmit disabled.

We only discovered this after running through our normal preshow check, and then frantically checking all physical connections, rebooting both the audio systems and the Ion, and even trying our backup Ion (with same result).  It was a last ditch "well, try clicking this: why not?" that I discovered the sudden need to have MSC Transmit enabled in order for it to receive MSC commands.

So now, both Receive and Transmit must be enabled to receive MSC commands.  If either one is disabled, the Ion will not accept the MSC commands from the audio console.

Fortunately we are not trying to transmit any MIDI to other devices, so this isn't a problem for this show.  But this could potentially be an issue if we want to toggle control between transmitting and receiving on a future production.

Anyone else experience a similar problem?  Thoughts?
