ION tabs

When closing and opening tabs they don't open in numerical order at the bottom. Is there a way to arrange them when this happens so they are always in the same place when something is accidentally closed and reopened?

  • I'm guessing that since this is the answer then they can't be organized. So if a new tab is opened then they have to all be done in order again and a new snapshot made.
I thought I read something about that being changed in one of the upgrades; that the tabs would always open in numerical order but I must be mistaken. Sure would be a nice feature, at least for me.
  • The tabs open to a specific numerical order now. Patch is always 12. ML Controls is always 5. We used to support ever changing tab numbers but fortunately got rid of that for a static numbering system years ago.
  • Thanks for that Josh but not completely what I was asking. I know they stay the same numbers but when they open they don't open in numerical sequence. They seem to open at the end of the string of whatever is already open. So I was wondering if they can be arranged in numerical order so when something is closed and reopened it will go back to the same place. Snapshots can be a partial fix but when something is added then a new snapshot would need to be created.
