Nomad Puck not seeing USB drive - can get print output file

In addition to having problems connecting the Nomad Puck to the training visualizer, I can't see a usb drive to save my files or output the print files. Is there any secret to making that work?

  • is the usb drive a simple memory stick or is it one that needs encryption software installed, like U3?
regarding the visualizer: what did you try? what is the setup?
  • USB is simple memory stick (PNY 1 GB) - Works on my Mac running Nomad, and my first gen ION console but isn't visible from the Nomad Puck (512) file or print menus.

For the visualizer, I have the training Capture file running on an iMac. The iMac and Puck are connected to a LinkSys 5 port gigabit switch. I am able to ping the iMac from the Puck and the Puck from the iMac so a network connection is established. I've tried various combinations of starting the Capture first, starting the Puck first, starting at the same time. It did work twice but once I shut things down, I couldn't get the visualization working again. I'm using the training set of files from ETC Ion Advanced Training workshop.

Just got the Puck 3 weeks ago and used it as a client with the Ion to cue a musical and now I'm using it stand-alone with a Gadget connecting it to SmartFade Dimmers in our Lab theatre.
