How can I replace the numerical intensity of a submaster with a label?

Ex. Changing my works sub to say WRX instead of showing its intensity value in the tombstone. 
 I know it's possible but I couldn't find a step by step method.

this has nothing to do with the sub itself, but rather with the intensity coming from an intensity palette, which then can be placed on the sub. label the intensity palette and in setup > desk > display make sure that the setting for reference labels is correct
