Merge

Simple question. When merging something from another showfile do both the start and end have to be entered? For instance: Want to merge ONLY sub 26 from show file A into show file B as Sub 52. Can just 26 be entered as start, leaving end blank then 52 as target or do both start and end have to have 26 in them?

Reason: I did jus that with different sub numbers though (only entered the start sub and target) and not only did I gain sub 52 but it replaced my subs after 26 as well.

  • I assume the selections in Advanced Merge are there for a reason and I follow the choices.

Thus and as per your example, if I want Sub 26 and ONLY Sub 26 to be in Sub 52 in the new file, I would select Advanced, put 26 in the start and end (eliminate a range or other options is the idea) and Target as 52. Works every time.
