Virtual Media Server Library 0 Not Populating Files

Apologies if this basic question has been answered already. I'm running through the pixel mapping tutorial and the library 0 is not populating files in the ML control window. It shows a library "0" as white and selectable but in the file portion library 0 shows no available files. I am going to load my own files, but at this point I just wanted to get in and do some basic playing with the ETC-populated library.

hey travis.
could it be, that your console is an Ion or Eos classic that have been sold quite some time ago? pixel mapping was introduced with software version 1.9.5 almost 4,5 years ago. consoles that left the factory before that need a pixel mapping starter package to be installed. you can find it on the Eos Product Page as Pixel Mapping installer. the current version is 1.0.1

Hey thanks so much for the quick reply. We actually haven't gotten our console yet (switching from a Strand 300 to an Ion, THANK GOD!) I'm working in Nomad right now running the 2.3 BETA.

I also have some questions about the Ion controlling video mapping tools (MadMapper etc...I currently use VPT7 but would like to switch) but I'll get to those at a later date. I want to keep this on topic.

ah, i didn't get it's about nomad. but the same goes for nomad as well, you need to run the pixelmap installer 1.0.1, which can be found on any of the eos family of consoles product download pages

I downloaded and ran the installer, got my sound cue that the install was successful. Opened Nomad and Library 0 still was not populated. I closed Nomad, restarted my computer (Mac Mini) and re-opened Nomad and still no pre-loaded animations. Granted, I'm not running the same demo set-up as in the tutorials (I'm using 30 D40lustrs in a 6 x 5 pixel map instead of the general RGB LED patch from the video) but I would think that shouldn't matter, right?

you're right, that shouldn't matter.
you did see that there is a mac version of the installer?
and when you start nomad, you get to the shell. a small window where you choose to start offline or as mirror. click setup there. in the category general, there is also the path to the sample files (media). check that the path is correct.

Yep and yep, running the Mac version and in the shell the file location is correct. I double checked and that file is indeed holding the animations. Our Ion will be here tomorrow so after I get 2.3. Loaded and the pixel map update loaded I'll try it on the actual desk.

on a new ion you don't need to run the pixelmap installer as this is taken care of in the factory

Built a rig in pre-viz that gives a much better example of the mapping at a better resolution but here's what Im seeing along the way so far. I have the master later at full, layer one at full, layer two at full but only layer two will allow me to access the files in library 0.
