Updating channels in a cue list... profile or preset?

Hi all

For an upcoming tour I have a show file with quite a lot of cues. Unfortunately each cue will need to be re balanced dependant on the venues LX positions and output quality of their lamps. The cue list is in tracking so this does make it some what easier.

However, I am wondering if there is some sort of profile I can write and store somewhere that allows me to select 1 or a group of channels and increase or decrease their intensities by a certain percentage from their current level over the entire cue list ? if so how exactly is this done?

My other question is, would it just be easier to create a bunch of presets for those states which look pretty similar then assigning that preset to a number of cues, in turn only having to update say 30 presets?

Thanks for your help

Ben

  • Sounds like your show might be a little big for this, but sometimes I just set up a few inhibitive subs for shows that visit my venue. Our FoH washes are usually brighter than most visiting designers expect, so I'll just have an FoH inhibitive sub and they run their show with those lights inhibited however much they need. Maybe something to consider if your rig is small enough, then you might not have to edit any cues or presets at all.
  • Hi KLM
That sounds like a great idea, however the show will tour with an Ion with no fader wings, so whilst this is possible just not the best solution.
