MIDI Status

Does anyone have a solution to display (preferably on a magic sheet) the current show control status? E.g. "MIDI Tx is ON", "SMPTE Rx is OFF"?

While I can fire a macro that changes the color (or text) of a magic sheet object but that doesn't actually display the status, it only shows if the macro fired properly. I'm looking for something a bit more... Definitive.

the only way i can think of would be with dummy channels and their intensities. in the macro you use to change the setting, you also switch a dummy channel's intensity to full. and in magic sheet you would have an indicator object, linked to that dummy channel's intensity

Another solution that I came up with, is a command line magic sheet object as an unused user and a macro that changes users before forcing the MIDI change and then switching back. This command line will always display "MidiTimeCode Enable" or "MidiTimeCode Disable" as long as that user isn't used.
