Color Picker Data Source

Can we add a way to see where color values are coming from in the color picker? I see the display in the upper left of the spectrum viewer that says "VariLite: green" (as an example) but this doesn't help when working with multiple fixtures of the same manufacturer.

Thanks!

  • Hey Scott. We've discussed this internally and are interested to know more detail. Are you looking for a representation of the physical location? Or something different?
    Thanks!

  • Hi Anne,

I think I'm actually looking for at least two different things:

    1. It would be great if when using the spectral tool the gel name in the top left you're matching to would also say the fixture type.  Right now with 2 different Clay Paky fixtures patched (Alpha Beam 1500 S LC, Alpha Wash 1500 S LC) they say "Clay Paky: red" in the display, when they all have 2 different reds.  I think "Alpha Beam 1500 S LC" or "Alpha Beam 1500" would work better
    2. Can we get a "table view" of the colors in the gels tool? I'm thinking the same principle of table view in live, but instead with the gels separated by fixture type with a sub-header.
    3. OR could we add the feature when "data" is held down the small blocks of color are replaced by one big one that say where the value is coming from?

I'll draw something up on the way into work tomorrow, because pictures are good.

    Thanks!
