Is this normal?

  • All of these shortcut keys are working for me. What's your Nomad setup? Windows? Mac? Did you check the box for 'Use Shift key as Eos Shift in the shell? (z works if you haven't checked this box)
  • the goal of those multiple shortcuts for one hardkey is that with all the different international keyboards you can find at least one that works. so yes, it's perfectly normal that one of the shortcuts doesn't work as long as one of the alternatives does work.
  • I'm testing EOS 2.3 with Windows XP.
In version 2.2 for Patch Alt F2 is activated.
However, version 2.3 now shortcut keys for Patch is (;;) but is inoperative and Z as well.[:|]

  • in the Shell under Settings > General there is an option Use Shift as Eos Shift. the difference is this:
when on a console you use Shift to do something, do you want to use Shift or Z on the external keyboard? the reason for this option is, that many international keyboards need the keyboard shift to create special characters.
let's say you want to save your showfile, on the console you do Shift-Update. Update on the external keyboard is U, so depending on the Shift setting in the shell you would use either Shift-U or Z+U on your external keyboard.
which option you choose or rather which option is the better choice depends on the keyboard layout you're using. with a US-keyboard QWERTY layout you can activate the shift option, for most others i've seen i would uncheck it. most european keyboards (and there are lots of different ones around here) would have to deactivate it to be able to use all hotkeys.

so: which layout are you using?
  • Is solved. It was that. Change settings Qwerty keyboard (spanish) and perfect.

Thanks for your time and help.
