Monitor Functionality

I am running a GIO with three Acer FT220-HQL monitors connected. I have the monitor settings in the shell at resolution-1920 x 1080, color depth-32 bit, refresh rate- 60 Hz. This results in a 1/2 band around the monitor of unused screen area. If I switch the settings in the shell to a refresh rate of 59 Hz I get full screen output but the touch screen loses most functionality. (the upper left quadrant still works but accuracy decreases as you move to the right) I tried resetting and recalibrating the touch screen but with no success. Called tech support, they suggested an active DVI to HDMI convertor for the system. I am not sure how that will help as HDMI and DVI both support a screen resolution of 1920X1080. I can put two monitors on the ION console with the same settings as the GIO and get full functionality of the screens. I am at a loss and looking for some suggestions or ideas.

  • I've seen this many times with Win7 and 1080p monitors. Ive been able to make this work by changing the resolution manually to something other than 1920x1080 and then back. If that doesn't work you may need to go in to the windows side of things and change it there manually. If you need to do that, call phone support and let them know what you're trying to do. You should not need a convertor--in essence you need to trick windows in to displaying full output.
