contact closure trigger an Element

Hey all,

i'm trying to setup a foot switch to trigger an Element. What i did so far:

Soldered (and checked) the cable for the footswitch, so that it connects Pin 1 against 14/15 of the Sub-D Connector if it is triggered. As it is a dual foot switch i used Pin 3 connecting to 14/15 for the seccond pedal.

I checked in shell that Group 1 and the Adresses 1 thru 4 are selected as it is the default setting.

In setup/show control i checked that analog inputs are enabled

I created 2 Events that have Group 1 as source and Address 1/2.

I tried then several actions with cues or subs or Macros. None of them did work.

Is there a way to see if the trigger does get to the desk?

Did i miss something?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Philip

  • Hi Philip,

You'll also want to connect pin 2 and 4 to pins 12/13 (tying these to common). This is likely all you're missing.

Also check that the local I/O configuration in the shell has a group ID of 1 and addresses of 1, 2, 3, and 4 (just so everything matches). (EDIT: Sorry - missed that you already checked this).

You can open the diagnostics tab - it won't show contact closure state, but it will show if something happens as a result (cue/sub/macro fires).

    Thanks!
