Nomad with Gadget not outputting DMX

Hi

I have a Nomad dongle running on a dedicated PC with an ETC usb to DMX Gadget. On a couple of occasions the set up refused to output DMX. Well I assume that was the issue. All seemed OK ad there was no obvious error with the software or the PC. I could use all the functions of the software and it appeared to be giving information to the rig but nothing happened on stage. The dongle seemed to be reading fine; upon exiting I still had all the options one would expect with the dongle attached. (Running latest 2.3). A PC restart sorted this problem, although on one occasion several restarts were necessary.

This has happened on another laptop with different cables/dimmers/movers but with the same gadget and nomad dongle, both on 2.3 and 2.2. It has never failed to output once all booted up, it seems to be just on start up.

Is there something I'm missing on Nomad configuration or PC config. I am concerned there may be an issue with the dongle/gadget and I worry people will loose faith in the Nomad platform.

Any ideas?

Kevin

  • Hello,

I think it is possible that the drivers for the gadget have not properly been associated with the device in Windows.

This document shows how to associate the driver:

If you find that you do not have the High-Speed Pipe folder on your machine, then installing Concert v1.1.1 may help.  It should place the drivers onto your PC for you, but you will still need to associate them with the device.  Concert v1.1.1 can be downloaded here:

    Thank you,
