2.3.1 yellow question marks on RVI

Hi all,

We updated our ion and RVI to 2.3 early this week and are now in tech. One possible bug is the designer is sometimes seeing yellow question marks on the tombstones on his displays. I don't have them on the Ion. Also ran into some of the effects tracking problems others already reported. When in blind, channel # @ enter, will bring the parameters to their previous values but doesn't touch the effects. Kinda annoying! Will look forward to the update.

The yellow question marks indicate errors on the circuits affected. You have to turn that feedback on in the ECU (shell). I expect you have it turned off on your Ion but on for the RVI which is why you're seeing them there.

I just checked and RDM is enabled on the ion. Also, we don't have any RDM devices on this show so it doesn't make any sense to have the question marks there. They first appeared after I shutdown the board one night without bothering with the RVI. All that makes me think it's similar to one of the errors that was fixed with 2.1.0, but I haven't had a lot of time to look at the details on the RVI yet.

Do you have Sensor dimmers? They also provide feedback if it's enabled in the Shell.

We do have sensor dimmers. For some reason though the board is only seeing one of the three racks. The errors show on the RVI for all of the dimmer in that rack. Anyway, I still can't get the question marks to appear on the ion. I enabled RDM, discovery, attached a dimmer to a channel, and still don't see anything.

I've just disabled RDM on the RVI now so it won't bug the designer anymore.

Ah, so I expect it's the sensor dimmer reporting which is causing those errors, although why I'm not sure. The Sensor feedback is actually as different setting to RDM. In the shell you'll see an option for Sensor Feedback. That is probably enabled on your RVI and not on the Ion?
