During a graduation event today the Ion console glitched (not quite a full out crash). I've sent the log to ETC.
During the university graduations, we sit in a static lighting look for more than 10 hours as we host 4 graduation ceremonies. During the 3rd ceremony this day the console decided to change some submasters. By the time the operator got back to the booth (their stage crew during these grads), 7 different submaster LEDs were flashing, with the arrows pointing up or down. House light levels increased, work lights popped on, and a good portion of the stage lighting went out. Embarrassing to say the least, with the university president sitting on stage. Potentially quite dangerous as well, depending on what lights went up or down.
Be warned, this is the second console I've had exhibit problems. After the logs from the first console were sent in, ETC said they saw stuff they didn't like in it and are replacing my console. I'm still waiting for that one to arrive. Now I might need to replace this console. . . .
I'm happy with the service, and I'm sure this will be dealt with quickly, but I gotta wonder what's going wrong: 2 consoles failing doesn't make my boss happy.
Back to the Strand LBX for a while. (sigh)
