ETC fixture library

Hello. Don't mean to sound stupid after all I am new to the game but I am having trouble with ETC fixture library's. I have updated my software to 2.3.2. on both my ION and Nomad however it does not show any fixture library in my etc nomad. Any suggestions. And with the offline EOSNomad is their a way to control lights via computer.

  • - nomad in offline does not control lights, it's offline. to make it come online you need a license. this license comes in form of a USB dongle and comes in all output sizes from 256 addresses to 6144 addresses. that's to allow outputs.
next you need a physical mean to output, that would be either a ETC Gadget (USB-DMX) or a ArtNet or sACN node by ETC or any other manufacturer.

    - regarding your library: how do you see that there is no library? did you go to patch, select a channel, click type, click manufacturer and there was none? that would probably mean that the library installer, which is a separate installer that lives within nomad installer, has failed. i would do as Nick suggested: re-download and re-install
  • i've had the same problem as you today. i don't know how it happens, but i ended up with nomad installed, but not the usb drivers and not the fixture library.
there is now a fixture library patch available from the Eos product pages, i will try installing it tomorrow to see if it works...
  • I had probably a similar(?) problem today.

I installed the new 2.3.2 on our main stage (RPU and Eos Ti), but when installing nomad 2.3.2 in the client, it gave a message when syncing up saying something about different Fixture Library Version ( - just visible for a second or two...). Didn't sync up.

The client said that it had no fixture library installed [Nomad - shell - general - bottom of page]. I installed 2.3.2 Fixture Library from homepage. That is a different version than what it is in the eos 2.3.2 software version, so it diden't sync. Then I had to install the same Fixture Library in both the RPU and the TI Eos (even if the Ti is set up to read software from RPU).

This is the same Fixture Library that has NOT had any significant testing yet. But then again; it's just drama anyway.  :D

Everything is working fine now (as far as I know). But it seems to be a little goofy that the Fixture Library in newest software on your homepage and newest Fixture Library on your homepage is not the same version... But there are probably god reasons that I don't understand for everything  ;)

  • I had this happen at the end of last week when installing Nomad (Beta b44) on my Windows laptop to be a client. Since I usually use Mac, I thought I had done something to mess the installation up. I reinstalled/repaired Nomad and that seemed to install the fixture library.
  • - I tried reinstall/repair, and then uninstall and install the Nomad again, before getting a new "singel" Fixture Library version...
But it's fine; I'm paid by the hours...
