Updating a cue range with palettes

Hey all,

I’m having one of those moments and I cant figure out the syntax. Can anyone help?

I’m going to simplify things a bit but essentially it’s the same problem. I’ve got 2 moving lights. They both come up in multiple positions throughout the show. By amazing co-incidence when channel 1 is in FP1, channel 2 is not used. I’ve set and updated channel 2 into FP1 and now I want to go through the whole show file and whenever channel 1 is in FP1, I want channel 2 to do the same. I don’t want to affect anything other than positional information.

Any ideas?

I have a couple of possible solutions for you...

The first solution (and this one will definatly work, but may be a bit time consuming depending on how many cues are in your show), go into blind. Press format until you get the spreadsheet view (cues listed down left side of screen, chans listed across screen).  Go through the showfile and find all the cues that you want ch2 to be in FP1.  Select the cues on the command line and then type [1 focus copy to 2 enter]

For example, lets say the cues are 1>3, 5, 7, 10 > 13.  The command would be [cue 1 thru 3 + 5 + 7 + 10 > 13 enter] [1 focus copy to 2 enter] It may be worth adding "q only" before pressing enter.  Have a play, you can always undo if you get undesirable results.

The second options (and I'm not sure if this will work) is again, in blind and spreadsheet view.  You may be able to use query to more quickly filter and select the cues in you are after.  Again, once you have the cues selected [1 focus copy to 2] will copy the focus data from ch 1 to ch 2.

I'll have a play with the query idea next time I'm infront of the console and see if that will work.

    Hope that helps - cheers
