Feature Request: Highlight

Hi,

I have a couple of requests for Highlight that I would like to put out for discussion....

1) Highlight should override absolutely everything.  Inhibits, effects, live changes, grand master.

2) Changes made while in highlight should not try to reference back to the highlight preset.  I should not be asked, in the update screen, if I want to update the Highlight preset.  Highlight values should not be seen by the console as manual/active changes to be updated.

3) Just as Highlight "Off" does not need an [Enter], neither should Highlight "On".  It should not be a command line event.

Bug Fix:  Oftentimes I have had parameters get knocked out of their reference if I try to update a preset while still in highlight.

Thanks!

  • Yes, yes, and yes. The majority of the time, I want to use highlight to find a single fixture among many, or a single LED source among hundreds. I hate having to lose my selection to turn it on, and then lose it again to turn it off. Look to Hog and MA for how their highlight behaves.

As for the first point – not sure highlight should override inhibs and the GM. Those could be user selections if it's really required. Effects and live changes, absolutely.
