OFFSET in Patch

ION - 2.3.2
(Perhaps related to David Buffhan thread from November 2.)
When in Patch:
eg. [1] [THRU] [10] {more SKs} {OFFSET}
This posts everything to the command line as usual, but no OFFSET options are offered onscreen nor in the soft keys.

Also, if I switch to Attributes or Database, even though my channel selection is still active, if I switch back to "Patch" mode, then NONE of the soft keys are active. I have to redo my channel selection.

Thanks,

Matthew

  • I think the reason why there are no softkeys is that this is a different offset function than the one in live. I guess you were looking for channel offsets, but the one in patch is an address offset. You can use it to patch e.g. devices that take 8 address each to start addresses like 11, 21, 31, 41 in one go: Chan 5 thru 8 @ 11 offset 10.
  • Yes, thanks Ueli. I thought that I used to use my above example to LABEL channels easily--where my ODD numbers are usually Daylight colored and my EVEN numbers are usually Tungsten. I must be remembering incorrectly. Perhaps I made the selection in LIVE and then used SELECT LAST in patch to label things this way. Your explanation makes sense. THANKS AGAIN
