Effects of submasters when in cue stack ETC Ion v2.3.3

I wonder if some one could answer this query? Using the latest software 2.3.3 on an etc ion. I have 4 spot movers in the rig and are in a gobo and focused etc with the intensity at 100%. The query I have is that if I have an absolute effect on a fader as effect sub and intensity master how can I get it to over ride what is in the cue. I have the following absolute effect, Action 1 time 0 dwell 0.5 level 100%, Action 2 time 0 dwell 0.5 level 0%. My movers in the cue stack are at full already but in previous versions of the software I have been able to override this particular effect in a cue. All circle effects on faders are fine it seems to be just the level on absolute. My 2nd query is, If I run an step bases or absolute effect in a cue i.e. Steps 1 and 2 all blues 100% and then reds 100% and the same with absolute effect on generic lamps, when the cue is running with the effect, when I put subs that have these channels in up to full this should take preference and put them up to full even though the effect is running in cue, in this version of the software this doesn't happen it takes no effect ........ Help please

  • I'm not totally sure I get what you're asking. But for your first question, you're trying to do an intensity effect on fixtures that are already at full in your main cue list?

The other day I was doing the same thing. Record a sub right next to your effect sub that has just those movers' intensity at 0 and set it to LTP. Then give the sub timing up 0 dwell "hold" down 0. When you press the bump button for your effect, press this bump button, too. I think that's what I did, it's been a while...
  • Sorry have tried to make this simple,

So the movers are all programmed with the intensity at full in cue 3, what I want to do is have an effect sub that does an intensity chase but that takes control and over rides what is in the cue just if you like a 'busking' fader. The other is I have a step based effect through certain channels and running that in cue 10 but instead of programming a all at full state I just want to put the submasters up to full with the channels in so it puts the chase to full,

With the LTP fader what would this do?, still getting the grips with the HTP and LTP?

    Thanks for you help
  • The LTP fader will send your movers' intensity to 0 so that they can do your chase effect.

Since you're sending the movers to a lower intensity than the cue has them recorded at, the fader should be Latest Takes Precedence - LTP - or else nothing would happen.
