v 2.3.x Color Picker Issues with Varilite fixtures

When using the Color Picker with VL1000 or VL3500 on any 2.3 version, I found the following problems

1. Clicking on the swatch book points on the color picker did not post a reference on the command line, only hard values were applied, just like pre 2.3 versions.

2. When I click on a swatch book tile to get a reference label, the hue/saturation moves to a completely different area.

3. If is gel is selected which is outside the performance envelop for these fixtures, the reference is posted but the hue/saturation point is moved inside of the envelope, well away from the limit line.  Almost like the dot bounced off the "fence".

4. This problem is not as bad for the "Standard Colors ".

Until this is fixed the gel plot points are completely useless to me.

P.S. (why does the forum spell checker not like the spelling color but likes colour )

  • Hello,

I patched a VL3500 Spot to take a look at these issues. Both of these use CMY color mixing systems. v2.3 improved color mixing on the whole, but we have things that we want to improve on with CMY in particular in the future. Comments below.

    1. I'll write this up as a bug.
    2. Same here. Very odd.
    3. I see this with some colors and not others (noticeably on 5/386 and 5/86). This didn't happen on most colors I tried. Were there any ones in particular that stood out for you? We'll look at what happens with those greens in any event.
    4. Noted.

    Thanks!
