newbie question about element patching

Hello,

I am learning the element 60 board. Our theater has over 120 circuits. I started a new show and I can see that circuits are patched 1 to 1. I can run the dimmers up for the first 120 circuits and I can see the lamps. But how do I turn on the lamps connected to 121 and above?

Thanks.

  • ah, because you run out of channel faders after 120?
when you're in live mode you can type the numbers on the numeric keypad and run up the level wheel. i'm convinced that this is actually the fastest method, as you e.g. can also combine lights. if you want to keep using the faders, you would have to change the patch to bring higher numbered dimmers down to channels below 120 or you could record some channels into submasters and use those.

to learn the features of the element consoles i can recommend a series of youtube videos: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLF269237482F9B97A . those are for an element but the videos might be out of date for a feature or two. or you can watch the videos for the whole eos-family but be aware that some of the features are not available on an element. still it would explain why we do things the way we do it: http://www.etcconnect.com/Support/Tutorials/Eos-Family-Videos/Overview.aspx
