VL4000 Gobo Modes [Nomad/PC] Fixture Library 2.3.3.34

On my Nomad(PC) it appears that the gobo modes for the VL4000 BW/Spot are not working as I'm used to with other fixtures. There are no modes for Rotate/Index/etc. Instead they are all listed as frames in one long list with the gobos repeated for each mode. Not sure if this is a bug or just hasn't been added yet, but I'm curious to know if this is fixable. I can supply further information if this isn't clear enough.

Thanks,

Trevor

  • This is a know issues which will hopefully be fix in 2.4.
I can send you a showfile with an older fixture which did have modes for index/rotation (but does have mega stepping I think).

This became a problem because VL have modes on the gobo select parameter and an extra parameter for even mode modes
  • Thanks for the reply, I couldn't find any information on this, so I'm glad to hear it's not just something I'm doing wrong.

Assuming we won't see 2.4 in the coming weeks, I'd be thrilled to take a look at a old showfile with the modes. Not sure what mega stepping is exactly, but I'd be interested to see which issue is easier to deal with.

I see what you mean with the modes and how that could cause an issue. Can't wait to see how it ends up being solved.

    Thanks,

  • Hi Trevor

Sorry for the delay in sending this.

Attached is a showfile with VL4000, this fixture was adjusted in October 2014 pre Eos 2.3 and at the time had wrong Lamp Consoles (wrong timing and bad labels if I remember correctly). These Lamp Controls were adjusted after October 2014 in a default Eos fixture.

This fixture will give you Index/Rotation, and correct Lamp Controls at the time of October 2014 although I only checked the normal ones, Lamp Strike and Douse, Global Reset etc etc.

Save your current showfile and then just merge Fixtures from this file. Sorry I have a Apollo Scroller in this showfile I can't delete.

Hope this helps, I worked on a big project with this fixture and didn't run into any problems.

  • Thanks a bunch for this, you don't happen to have a VL4K Beamwash from back then too do you? If not, no worries, this helps a lot.

I appreciate your help with this.

    Thanks,
    Trevor
