Strange issue with VL 1100 TS - Ion Desk

I've been programming a show with a couple of VL1100 tungsten units in it. The show was programmed and teched over two seperate days, (Friday/Sunday). There were dress rehearsals of the show on Sunday after programming, and everything was working fine. However, an hour before the first performance this week I realised that one of the VLs had reversed it's pan position through 180 degrees. Rather than pointing at the stage, it was now pointing at the back wall of the auditorium. It is still doing all its moves, beam changes and colours correctly, just pointing in the wrong direction. Logically I would assume that the unit has developed a fault, or I had inadvertently made a programming error during the minor updates subsequent to the dress rehearsals. The only problem with either of these explanations is that for some reason it's position in all the cues programmed on Friday is still correct, it is only the cues programmed on Sunday that are effected. I am struggling to find an explanation for what has happened. The positions were definitely correct when we did the dress rehearsal on Sunday, so to rule out any post dress updates being the cause I have loaded versions of the show saved before this, but the problem is still there. I have tried flipping pan and tilt setting in individual cues but the unit still points at the back wall. Given that the Friday cues are not effected, I am struggling to find any coherent explanation for what has happened.

Any suggestions for the really simple explanation I have missed would be welcome.

  • Are the values looking right but the fixture is 180 out?
When you say 180 degree out is it a true 180 degrees or inverted values?

If the value should be 45 are you seeing 225 or -135, or are you seeing -45?

Do you know if you normally have invert Pan enabled?
If you think the console has done something pull the logs with the time on Sunday when you think this happened.

It's also difficult to work through these discussions when written as a big paragraph. I don't now if it was a browser/forum problem?
