Waccamaw HS

I am have a gig at a local high school coming up.  The rig is comprised of mostly Selador Classic series units.  These leave very few available addresses on port 1 available.  There is an ETC network  present.  The DMX output on stage outputs to port 1.  How do I get it configured to port 2?  Console is an Element.

    Hi SBC,

    what kind of Device on the stage is outputting DMX? Does it say Net2 or Net3 on the

    front somewhere? If it is a Net2 device, you can use NCE Software to configure it.

    If it is a Net3 Device, you can use GCE or Concert Software to configure it from Universe 1 to Universe 2.

    NCE, GCE and Concert could be installed already in the Setup area of your Element Console.

    Thank you.
    I do not remember if it is Net 2 or Net 3. I cannot get to the venue until just before the gig next month. The auditorium manager is not incredibly tech savvy. Perhaps I will find time to try the reconfigure during load in.

    You can feel free to call ETC Tech Service when you are site for assistance.

    I would only suggest that if you do end up changing the port on the stage, that before you leave, you change it back

    to the way it was that it was found - especially if the auditorium manager is not so tech savvy ;)

    Ideas for you:

    1. Ask the manager to send you a photo of the device. It should clearly show what it is.
    2. Call tech services and see if they have project drawings. Seladors, ETC network, Element sounds likely to be an all ETC install and therefore detailed information on what was put in. Yes, stuff happens after installation, especially with not so tech savvy users, so no guarantees!
    3. If all else fails, rent a gateway and find another network jack. You still have to know if it's Net2 or Net3 but some gateways can be converted to either mode.
