Patching intelligent fixtures in ION, RDM not available due to no GATEWAY

I am trying to patch an intelligent light into my ION, but I do not have a GATEWAY 5.1 or higher as required to make RDM possible. I only need to use 1 intelligent light for this show. Is it possible to patch that singular device straight into my console so that I can program and control the parameters? If so, how?

    yes - you can manually patch new devices into your Ion. 

    Which Eos Software is on the Ion? You can press the ABOUT button to see the Eos Version. 

    What is the manufacturer name, model and mode of your intelligent light? 

    Ion can also do RDM directly out of the DMX ports of the Ion console; it made a firmware update. RDM is also possible via Net3 DMX Gateways - they just might need a firmware update.
