Martin Rush Wizard and Chauvet Rogue R2 spot

I have sent an email to Martin asking the first part of this post but they aren't replying. At least not yet. So I though I would put it out there to all you brainiacs that are always so helpful to everyone. ION console.

I have some of the Wizards which have built in effects macros. Those macros are in the EOS family library. It seems the macros include an automatic full intensity when running them, so you know what that means; when they are Marked for the next cue they come on in the marked cue because intensity is off but the macro is running in wait mode. I emailed Martin asking if that is the way they designed them or if it's something in the library design. If it's the way they designed them I don't know why they took away the ability for the user to control intensity.

So is there anything you can suggest to eliminate them running in the previous cue? Here's the twist. Even turning off the mark they still come on in the previous cue. My last experience was this: I put them in cue 3 unmarked. I wanted them to stop in cue 4 but stay on full intensity white, so I recorded that in cue 4. They would not run at all in cue 3. Only in cue 4 as static white. When I deleted them from cue 4 and only had them in cue 3, they came on in cue 2 and cue 3.

Also can you tell me how to stop gobos (Chauvet Rogue R2 Spot) and rotating mirrors (Wizards) when the are rotating from spinning to a home mode then stopping rather than just stopping when recording them stopped. This happens with both the Wizards and the Chauvet Rogue R2 spot fixtures. When I have a Chauvet gobo rotating in a cue and hit the next cue for it to stop it spins quickly to home then stops. Looks horrible. When the Wizard mirror drum is rotating slowly and hit the next cue to stop it spins to home then stops. Other brands don't do that.

  • Charles,

If you are referring to the Macros I don't think that will solve the problem because it appears intensity is built into each macro at 100%. When I have nothing selected, pick the fixture and ONLY pick a macro they go on full intensity and the macro runs. Even though intensity is at zero. I am still waiting to hear back from Martin about that.
