Taking a show to a theatre with a Grand MA but the show is currently on an EOS. Is there anyway to get at least some of the information form the EOS file to use on the Grand MA?

Hi Ian,
Eos can export a showfile to ASCII Format - this is an older format that will bring some patch, cues, intensity levels.
ML, Effects, other function will not be converted, and then lost in that format.
I think at some point MA could do an ASCII Import - so you could ask them. Then you at least have
Cue Info, and basic patch.
For future reference, if you have to go the other way, you can give us an MA Showfile, and we can bring
most of the show file information into Eos Format.
Hope that helps!
Definitely give yourself lots of time to play with the file in MA onPC (their offline software). It seems like I have to convert a show file one direction or the other every 18-months or so, and it always takes much longer than I anticipate.
So it's totally possible to get some data into MA, but don't try to do it on the day of your show.
Hi Simon,
currently the file conversion can only be done by ETC,
and not by you.
Please email us at cc (a-t) etcconnect (d-o-t) com
following things:
- MA Showfile
- Is it MA or MA2
- deadline
Will then get back to you.
Thanks!
Has this changed in the last 7 years?

This hasn't changed. While ETC can help you to get MA showfiles into Eos, you might have to ask MA if the other direction is possible.
