They are ways of sending and receiving data from Eos and it means they're currently both enabled. If you don't know what they are then it's very likely you're not using them.
If you look in Setup > Show > Show Control you can disable them there.
The status text was added in something like 2.3.X. If you don't need them then you may as well disable them but it won't do you any harm having them enabled if you're the only one using the network.
