How to select Focus encoders on Eos?

I've got a show next week with Studio Due CS4s, and I'm working out how to control them on Eos. Each of these units have a total of 2 pan and 5 tilt attributes, so I'm trying to figure out how to select and page through Focus encoders - I'm not that interested in setting the tilts from the command line... :)

On the Ion this wouldn't seem to be a problem as there is a Focus page for encoders, but I can't find the equivalent on the Eos. I have seen a Focus page of encoders on Eos offline, but once I've changed it to another type I can't find a way to get back to it - is there a keyboard shortcut for the Focus encoders on Eos/Ion offline (I can't see one in the hotkeys sheet) and if so I guess the same keyboard shortcut would work on the real Eos console?

These units also have 4 intensities which will be OK for setting on the command line or via intensity palette. Just out of interest though if I type 10 {Intensity} at 50, only the Intens parameter is going to 50%, whilst Intensity 2, Intensity 3 & Intensity 4 remain at zero (whereas 10 {Focus} 50 sets all focus parameters to 50).

  • Related to the intensity thing I mentioned above, is there any way to get all four intensities controlled by the intensity wheel, Out, Level, Full, GM, etc.? It seems like only Itens attribute is being affected by these functions, not anything else in the Intensity group. I can see this being a real difficulty for plotting.

Unless there's an easier solution right now, we'll try creating a custom fixture profile which maps the intensity channels to RGBA and use virtual intensity to master the intensity of the four lamps, which should solve the problem above, and avoid any marking issues. In doing that we could also map the pans & tilts to beam parameters so they show up on encoders.
