GIO: How to combine multiple fixtures to be treated as one in effects

Hello, I'm new here and new to the GIO.

In our location we have a lot of columns, with up to three LED-PARs around them and vertically split in two parts (above and below a balcony). For effects I would like to be able to treat all LEDs on a column as one, but I can't find how to do this in the manual. If I group them, they are still treated one after another, not at the same time.

Do you have any ideas how to solve this problem?

  • You can use offset to build subgroups within your groups to achieve what you are trying to do.

    IE:

    24 columns have 2 channels each [1 and 2, 3 and 4, 5 and 6] etc...

    You can then type [1] [Thru] [48] {Offset} {Chan Per Group} [2] [Enter].

This will give you (1,2) (3,4) (4,5) etc... as your selection

You can then use this as a one time go, or record this as a group, which will contain your appropriate subgrouping.

Offset has many options so you may want to look in the manual for this section.
