(Probably) an easy effects question

Hello All,

For the life of me, I can't figure this one out! I could do it fine on my Expression3, but am not having luck on my new Ion. I have source fours on channels 54-81 that I would like to make into a random chase effect. Could anybody help me out with this?! Probably a pretty simple question, but last night I was getting pretty tired and slappy and just couldn't get my brain around it!

Hi Pat, if you create a step effect and choose the [Random groups] attribute, it will fire a random step after each step time ellapses. However, there is a defect in Random Groups, where it's not playing back correctly if the steps overlap, (the step time is less than the other three times combined). There is a 1.4.0 patch release coming out very soon that fixes this.

The workaround the random groups defect, itt was suggested in an earlier post that you turn off random groups, then distribute the channels in a random ordered group instead. From live, [Chan 54 Thru 81 Offset Random Record Group 1], then in the effect editor [Step 1 Thru 27 Group 1 Enter].
