New User Advice

Have recently purchased an ETCNOMAD and Gadget however coming from a very amateur background i can seem to be able to control the Gadget from the EOS nomad shell, im also finding a little difficult to locate and material to help with first time users. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many Thanks

  • so you installed the current version of Eos Nomad (which is 2.3.3), connected your nomad dongle (the thing that looks like a tiny UBS drive with a green handle) and the gadget to your computer and then started the Eos shell?
    what is your OS?
in the shell, does it say Primary, Backup, Client, or Offline w/ viz, Offline, Mirror?
click settings, local i/o. can you take a picture?

click cancel and then either offline or primary. the eos software will start.
press F9 and then navigate in the bottom right corner of the screen to Exit. Press Enter twice. you're back in the shell
settings, local i/o. scroll down a bit, is there something additional now?

  • Hi Ueli

Thanks for the quick reply . My Os is Windows 8.1.

I've gone through the process above and my device is still not showing up where it states it will after starting the software.

  • You may not have a signed driver installed for your device. We released an additional driver installer to help with issues such this. Here is a download link: http://www.etcconnect.com/WorkArea/DownloadAsset.aspx?id=10737484980

In this case simply download and run the .exe on your Windows 8.1 machine. If the driver was the issue then you should be able to use the Gadget after running this.

    Thank you,
  • Hi Sasha

thanks for the reply, i've updated this but still doesn't seem to be recognizing the Gadget (i'm getting a blinking red light). Apologies for the newbie knowledge
  • A blinking red light is normal- the frequency of the blink may change but that LED does blink.

At this point you may want to consider calling into technical support in front of the equipment to troubleshoot. http://www.etcconnect.com/Support/Contact-Us.aspx
