Would this PC successfully run a Nomad 1024?

After dealing with many frustrations attempting to run my Nomad from a Mac Mini, I've decided to bite the bullet and run it off a PC instead. I've been eyeing this Dell Inspiron Micro, I'm a bit confused about the technical requirements for the Nomad. I'll be running the Eos family software on it, so I'm unsure as to whether the lack of a dedicated video card will be hindering me or if that only applies to Cobalt systems? Also, since this runs off an Intel Celeron dual core processor, does that satisfy the multi-core requirement or is it better to run Nomad off one of the newer "i" core processors?

  • Hi Tim,

While we haven't tested this model, the specs appear to be inline for use of a 1024 ETCnomad system. I would still recommend that you test it thoroughly to make sure it meets your needs.

As far as "i" core vs Celeron, the "i" core will likely provide more headroom but the answer really depends on what "i"core system you are considering.

Cobalt has higher requirements as we list and you pointed out. Being that this system is integrated graphics you still may want to consider increasing the RAM, even for use on Eos.

    Thanks,
    Matt
