Magic Sheet Text Wrap

Hi there,

A couple of quick queries.

I am trying to build a magic sheet that is a custom preset view - i.e. grouping by Scene, scene labels etc. Just generally a bit more controlled than a Direct Select Window.

In the Direct Select view the preset labels wrap and cut to suit the box. Using the Preset button in Magic Sheets, and then retargetting the first field to be the Preset Label, this text does not wrap in the same way, so i have multiple overlapping labels ?

Is there a way to make the Magic Sheet button labels behave in the same way as the direct selects ? or do I need to rename all my presets .... ?

Thank You

James

P.S. Whilst I am here, has anyone found a way of protecting against double Go - for example pressing Go disables the button for a second or something ?

P.P.S. Apart from the Timecode workaround, there isn't a way of displaying a stopwatch easily is there ?

P.P.P.S. I would really love a way of customising playback status - for example to give a particular colour flag to a cue part which is for Marks, or for Haze, or similar. As the console has made such strides towards customisation of so many views, this seems one that has barely changed in years ....

  • Hello James,

It is on the list to have magic sheets do text wrapping like direct selects -- it's tracked by SCR (software change request) number 24493.

I don't have a good recommendation for the double go issue - are you finding that the key is too sensitive? Or just that it's easy to accidentally hit it an extra time?

Internal timecode is the best stopwatch method for the moment.

Check out the 2.4.0 beta for customization of the PSD! It's not quite what you're looking for from your description above, but it is much more customizable! See this post for more info. http://community.etcconnect.com/control_consoles/f/15/t/19238

    Thanks!
  • While labeling a channel or record target, pressing Control&J inserts a line break.
