V1.4 submasters

I just upgraded from 1.3.1 to 1.4 and have a question regarding how (or why) submasters are loaded they way they are on a 2 x 20 wing.  I have a show in 1.3.1 with 11 submasters loaded.  I opened the show after installing 1.4 and the 11 submasters are loaded on the bottom row of sliders!  In 1.3.1 they were defined on the top row in submasters 1 through 11.  Now they are still labelled 1 through 11 but on the bottom row.  Doesn't make any logical sense to me.  I understand that all the sliders can now be defined for anything I want but this seems illogical to not use the first set available.
  • You can record a snapshot that just saves fader page layout (be sure to specify) and have that along with your screen layout on start up (if that's how you do things)
Subs can be mapped to any fader (makes some things easier) by simply selecting the sub and hitting the load button (both the bump and assert buttons together on most external fader wings)
    Hope that helps

  • While recording faders to snapshots, its important to know, that not only is recorded, which Sub is on which fader, but also the position (value) of the fader.
So if you have your houslight-fader at full while recording your snapshot, houslights will go to full again, if you recall your snapshot. Or your orchestra-light go to 0 because the fader was 0 in your snapshot.

Can be very uncool during a Show.

  • Good Point, I wouldn't use fader snaps mid show, just at start up.
I have a few Fader configurations depending on how I'll be working so it's worth having some standard ones in snapshots.
