How do I set intensity channels to default instead of zero

I am not positive, but I belive that what you want to do is instead of putting the level at 0 or out, use channel at enter.  Hope this helps

In live, [chan 1 Sneak Enter] will set them to default 0 (displayed in gray) and then they will not be recorded. The 0 intensities are recorded into the sub in case you make it an LTP sub, which can include 0s. But if it's an HTP sub it should not select the intensities that are at 0. This will be fixed.

 If you go into sub blind [Blind Sub 1 Enter], [Chan 1 At Enter] will remove the channel from the sub.

 What is the default for Subs, LTP or HTP.  I assumed it would be HTP for intensity only channels.

Just to be clear.... the HTP/LTP settings for both subs and cue lists is intensity only.  NPs are always LTP.

old topic i know, but just thinking aloud:

When recording a group, if channels have manual data, of which some are @ 0, then all channels with manual data would be recorded in to the group list, as was the problem in the OP.

However; can you not use Select Active / Record/ Group 1 / Enter, and this would also give the desired effect? no?

Yes, but the way I see most people recording groups is through command line selection, rather than using the state of the light itself.  This is because groups are often a subset of what lights are currently in use, and because many times you care about the selection order, which can't be determined from just a select active record function.
