Fader wing USB upgrade

I have been approved to upgrade my system to an Eos Ti, I have existing 2x10 universal fader wings and I understand that there is an upgrade available to USB 2.0 on the wings. Is this upgrade something I can do in house or will I need to send the wings back to ETC to have done?

The upgrade involves changing out circuit boards, so protecting against static discharge would be recommended. Strictly speaking, it does not have to go back to the factory. A middle-ground alternative would be to have a local authorized repair center do it.

The part number for a 2x10 upgrade is 4310K1011. The 2x20 upgrade is 4310K1012.
