ETC nomad client over WiFi Searching for master console - please help

Searching for master console - please help

I have a desktop computer running ETCNomad. It's connected to a switch and the switch is connected to a wireless router. I have a laptop running ETCnomad. I want the desktop to be the primary console and the laptop to be the client. I don't have enough of a parameter count on the laptop for it to be a backup.

The desktop PC runs as it should but when I put the laptop into client mode it just says "Searching for master console" and never connects, even when I click the troubleshoot button.

It works fine the other way - the laptop will work as a primary and the desktop will work as a client and they network together that way no problem.

Both computers are running Windows 10 Home and ETCNomad version 2.3.3 and the settings in the network section of the shell are identical (except console name and IP address)

I can connect ARFR to either PC if it is set as primary.

  • Check your fixture library versions- I had a similar problem not so long ago until I realised the fixture library is now a separate download and install to the main software.

Whilst wireless may not be officially supported as per Dan's post, I had a Nomad client running pretty solidly on a wireless connection for a two week tech period recently.
