touch screen monitors for Element

Our theater group has an Element (older, two DVI and one VGA port), which I have recently updated to the most recent software.  We have one VGA monitor for the console. Am looking for a touch screen.  There is one Viewsonic model listed as compatible (no longer available), and I was wondering if anyone has used the currently available model (VA2246m-LED).  Does it work?  It has the advantage of being inexpensive.  Thanks.  Also any suggestions would be welcome.

  • The older consoles use a serial port to connect touchscreens. The USB ones are very different.

ETC has always recommended ELO brand, but they've always been too expensive for any of my clients. Even more expensive would be to upgrade your console. They put in a new motherboard, OS and other good stuff. Then you could use regular touchscreens.
