Recording Submasters

Hey,

I was wondering why you can't record attributes into an EOS Submaster? I would love to be able to record a focus position for my IQ's and have them snap to that location as I bring the fader up for intensity or record the colour of my Mac300's when I build subs for kiddy dance shows like I have been able to do in the past on other consoles. On previous lighting consoles we have had the option of recording intensities only or attributes only, or both.

Just curious if this could be made available in an update or if there is a specific reason the EOS won't do this?

Hi Clayton,
Eos does this now. What version of Eos/Ion are you currently running? We just released 1.4 about two weeks ago which allows you to record NP's into submasters. If your still running 1.3.1 you should definately upgrade your consoles to this release. Remember that you will also have to update your laptop or any RVI on your system as well. If you have any questions about what to do after you update please ask.

Okay, so we have updated and have 1.4.1 on our EOS now so I am back with the times. I recorded a sub with an IQ intensity and a position. When I go to pull that sub up, I watch the IQ Move proportionally with the intensity of the lamp increase - I know theoretically why this happens, but I am wondering if there is a way to prevent it from moving proportionally. ON our previous console when recording IQ positions, the second you touch the sub, the IQ would snap into place and then you could fade the intensity up, that’s a feature I miss. The same challenge with recording a colour and intensity onto a sub for our Mac300's. I watch the colour roll into the frame as the intensity increases.

Is there a way to snap the attributes (AKA NP's) of a fixture into place when the sub reaches, oh say, 5% ?

I really like all the sub options we get now in 1.4.1 compared to the previous.

Clayton, configure the submaster as an I-Master. [Sub] [n] [Fader] [Enter] - the bump button will now act as a "mark" and the slider only controls the intensity.

We will have a manual for 1.4 posted shortly. I'm pretty wowed by the fact that you all have figured out as much about 1.4 as you have without any real documentation from us! :-)
