Use a Puck as a backup unit of an Element

I try to use a Puck unit as the Backup of my Element by without success. The Puck never see the Element as a Master on the network.

I use an Ethernet switch connected to the Element, the Puck and an ETC two ports gateway

- The two units use the EOS V2.3.3 software

-The two units have the Network card configured ( Ip 10.101.97.101 for the Element and 10.101.97.102 for the Puck)

- The two units have the SubNet Mask configured (255.255.0.0)

When I connect an ION with the same settings of this Element all the Backup functionalies are ok.

Is there a special setting or a special driver for the Element desk?

I don't think element supports a backup.

At the beginning of the Element life it was like you say but now it's change by the ETC Team.
Have a look in the current Element datasheet you can red : "Element can be backed
up by another Element, ETCnomad™ 1024 dongle or ETCnomad
Puck™ 1024 mini-computer".
Is there a mistake in this current datatsheet?

No, that is correct. Element supports backup now.

If you have a look in the shell (ECU) Settings > Network and scroll down until you see Multiconsole. Make sure that is ticked, it's require for multiconsole networking.

Also make sure you switch to Element mode from the Puck shell ("Change console mode" in the lower left), otherwise it will not display any Element masters.

I have check it several time without change. The Puck (My Backup unit) try to see the Primary desk (my Element) without success.

In this case I would contact your local technical support. Element should be able to be backed up by an ETCnomad Puck so long as it is in Element mode and they are in the same software version on the same subnet.

I confirm you that I start the Puck in Element mode and the Puck search the Master console (the Element desk) without success.

I confirm that they use the same software version and the same language settings.
I will contact the ETC support to found the solution (I will send you the information since it will be ok).

To confirm basic network connectivity between the Element and Nomad - exit to the shell on the Nomad and go to the Network tab. Use the Ping button to see if you can ping the Element console (enter IP 10.101.97.101).

Also make sure that everything matches as far as software versions, both main console software and fixture library should be the same.
